Roasting
Firehouse Coffee Company chooses premium arabica coffee,
also known as Gourmet specialty coffee, from around
the world. Roasting of the coffee is a critical step
in developing the individual origin's specific flavor
and aroma characteristics. The coffee beans are placed
in a drum roaster and are tended constantly by a knowledgeable
roaster who takes into account the many variables
that affect the coffee beans. Supervising the roast
by monitoring time, temperature, appearance, smell,
and sound is essential. This special care maintains
subtleties in taste that can be lost in the process.
Following roasting, each coffee is skillfully “cupped.”
